As an educator, I was shocked and disappointed with the way school officials and Fargo Police handled a mere dress code violation. Teenagers since the dawn of time have challenged authority and pushed against boundaries. I understand and respect the need for rules, but this minor policy violation could have easily been de-escalated. Instead, a young man was body slammed, handcuffed and jailed for wearing low-riding jeans. As a white male, this incident leaves me with one question: would this scenario have unfolded in the same way if Gray were white? Im not convinced_K.Nott
