As an example of what Pefkos is like I would like to recount something that happened on our very first visit ...so many years ago...we arrived in the small wee hours...we were staying at what is now Pefki Islands, back then it was called Pefki Paradise, when we surfaced the next morning we went to the nearest supermarket to buy the essentials, now the currency was then Drachma, the goods came to about 2000 Drac the smallest note I had was 20,0000 the owner had no change, he was not really English speaking, and I of course had no Greek, I went to put the items back on the shelves, but no he waved his hands and simply said Tomorrow ! Needless to say we returned later and paid and went there on a regular basis......I was hooked from then on really :-)
