As difficult as it is to believe, JFK was killed by a lone gunman - TopicsExpress

As difficult as it is to believe, JFK was killed by a lone gunman – Lee Harvey Oswald. Sherlock Holmes said, “There is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact”. It is human nature to look for meaning when often there is none. Unfortunately bad things happen – for no reason. It was a complete coincidence that a hateful idiot –Oswald – got a job in the book depository days before it was announced that Kennedy’s motorcade would be travelling by that very spot. Oswald was looking for someone to assassinate. He had already attempted but failed to kill the racist general Edwin Walker. Oswald shot at Walker while he was in his Dallas home, the dining room, but missed when the bullet hit the window frame. People cannot believe that the most powerful man in the world was killed by a nobody – that a moron with a gun changed the whole course of history – but that is what happened. Norman Mailer, one of my favorite authors, is as left wing and radical as people come. After extensive travels and research – including that of FBI and KGB files – Mailer, a conspiracy theorist at heart, came to the conclusion in his book Oswald’s Tale: An American Mystery that Oswald acted alone. Stephen King – no historian or journalist – but a good writer and guy came to the same conclusion for his book 22/11/63. There was no cover up. It was simply a horrible, horrible coincidence that put a hateful man with a mail order rifle in the wrong place at the wrong time to pull off one of the crimes of the century. Jack Ruby was a small time gangster, who like everyone else wanted revenge for the President’s death. He got the opportunity to take Oswald out and he took it. Norman Mailer perfectly sums up the difficulty people have with the obvious, “It is virtually not assimilable to our reason that a small lonely man felled a giant in the midst of his limousines, his legions, his throng, and his security. If such a non-entity destroyed the leader of the most powerful nation on earth, then a world of disproportion engulfs us, and we live in a universe that is absurd”. Sometimes the universe is absurd.
