As ever, RB puts it more succinctly than I can. As discussed (many times), we are not telling people not to vote, simply stating that we are not voting until we see something to vote for. On the Radio yesterday, a guy suggested we may vote for a particular party as theyre promising to get rid of inheritance tax. Thats it. Really? So if I agreed to vote Tory in order to (hopefully) avoid inheritance tax (should they 1) keep their promise and 2) Still be in power when i pop my cork) am I a better person? More engaged with democracy? Would it be my fault if said Tory party invade Iraq again and kill 100s of young British Men for the financial gain of others? Or is that the bit where I dont reveal who I voted for? Do people feel guilty when their elected party engage in war? Or is this why people come out and support these wars? Some sort of feeling of responsibility? Dont get it. Sorry.
