As many people who are politically active will soon find out, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is currently filibustering in support of defunding Obamacare. I admire his convictions however I think Washington should take a more practical approach to health care. Repeal the individual mandate in exchange for allowing consumers to go across state lines to to drive down the cost of insurance through market competition. Keep the provision stating that NO ONE can be dropped for pre-existing conditions or refuse to be covered for a pre-existing condition. Also, keep the provision about individuals can stay on their parents health insurance till they are 26. Also, get rid of the requirement forcing small businesses to provide health insurance to employees 30+ because it will kill their ability to grow and create jobs. There is common ground on this issue, please do not sharpen the divide between the two parties by being under the impression that this law in its current state is in the best interest of the United States. The policy behind this bill is to drive down the costs of skyrocketing premiums in this country and I just do not believe it will do that. -Proud citizen of the United States of America
