As most of us cant be at the concerts in Norway tonight and the next days, here is a bit of information and a video of the Mozart Violin Sonata Charlie is performing with Itamar Golan in Norway. Mozart Sonata in E Minor K304 was created as part of six piano and violin sonatas between 1777 and 1778. This is Mozarts solitary work in the key E Minor. It is also the most individual of all six sonatas. Remarkably simple, K304 opening melody is one of the most memorable musical themes in the violin-piano duo literature. This sonata is filled with absolute sadness and sorrow becoming increasingly powerful as each movement progresses. The genuine sadness is carried throughout the whole composition and is deeply moving. K304 was written in a turbulent and difficult time for Mozart--his beloved mother Anna Maria was suffering from a long lasting illness and in 1778 has passed away. It is believed that Mozart unofficially dedicated this sonata to his mother. youtu.be/v1vWb9uWzRY
