As most people know by now many retailers are opening on Thanksgiving day. Many folks have said they will never shop at these retailers ..... Well not to offend anyone but Im tired of this attitude. Do they complain when people in the motel industry work. What about police and fire, doctors, nurses and hospitals etc. How about the travel industry .... Airlines, trains, cruise ships. Television stations remain on with people working. People with electric, gas and other utilities work on Thanksgiving. How about the folks that run our phone and internet access. I could go on and on. Sure things are changing or as I see it evolving. Ive spoken with 3 people who are working at different retailers and they want to work. They get paid bonuses and in one case a young man said if he wasnt working he would be spending the day alone. He said his co-workers are planning a Thanksgiving meal before the store opens. I guess I get tired of people judging other peoples (or businesses) motive without getting the whole picture. Happy Thanksgiving!
