As promised the second post celebrating 2014... This year belonged to the hoarder in me... I have asked most of you to either accompany me or wait for me while I shop... Some of you have been exceptionally patient... And some have become my regular partners in crime... None of the articles are worth a fortune but for me each and everyone of these is priceless... I would highly encourage you all to showcase some of the beautiful handicrafts that Indian crafts men and women produce... I am listing a few here.... 1. Blue pottery from Rajasthan... A beautiful art that has existed for centuries.. The natural glaze and the flora motifs will add a dash of colour and history to your house... Available at Central Cottage in Delhi, Rajasthali across India, Chokhi Dhaani Jaipur and Johri Bazaar. 2. Wooden painted toys... Available in Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd Delhi and Vishwanath Gali, Varanasi. Dont buy online the quality is very inferior and over priced. 3. Stone craft... From Jaipur to Chunar... Every region has a flavor.. My collection has soap stone, marble, sand stone and black marble (not sure if this is accurate). Available in Cottage Emporium Delhi though expensive. Also I did collect some interesting stuff from London and Sri Lanka. Finally I fell in love with glass marbles and glass paper weights...
