As read aloud today for my friend Bryan Tulk: Miles, mileage: years flown, the child grown. Under cover, the Moon in the dark grew the child. Alone, thrown onstage, anger, tears, and rage. What father, what mother, what brother?—life begun like many others. Halcyon days, perhaps, memories obscured—far away. But we rejoice as He is reached today. Embrace this brother, this son—and at once, he has won. For he has reached the Light. In all of the things we have done and will do: This son, this brother, we honor you. Godspeed, Bryan, you’re off as you should. For now, among the stars, you’re cradled in Good. The five senses, the virtues, the vices removed: At last, the fight is lifted—an eternity gifted. Miles into forever: a love welcoming beyond measure, child beholds the face of God. interred Monday, September 8, 2014
