As some of you know because your local, theres been a recent tragedy in our little community. A 4 year old child was in a terrible accident and has passed into the arms of God. My husband knew the family, but I did not. From everything Ive heard and read, they are deeply committed Christians and have throngs of people praying for them and over them in this time of need. As a mother, I often find myself thinking of the what ifs. Everything from pool drownings, getting out of the house and into the street, car accidents, etc. I have to remind myself that God has his arms wrapped around my own little one and she will be safe with him. God has his own plan and though the family and those that endure such pain may never understand why, I pray that God provides them with peace in knowing that their little boy is walking and playing beside God and with strength to care for their other children and each other during the days ahead. There have been many posts on my personal feed about helping in the way of donations to help with the hospital and funeral expenses. As a small, small business, Ive found myself in the position of being able to reach beyond our city limits. Ive seen a need for people like myself to reach out and do what I can to help others. I didnt know these people. But what if I were in their shoes? Who would come to our aid? Just family and friends? Im not part of the family or their friend, but I am a human being who can sympathize, care, and help. The little boy, Hayden, loved Captain America. The family has requested that all those who attend the funeral on Thursday wear red and blue in honor of his favorite super hero. Heres where Penelope Joy comes in. I will be donating $10 from each RED and BLUE bangle/tasselet purchase from now until next Tuesday (1 week from today) to the Hitchcock family fund. I am including photos of the bangles that I have available. I have limited quantity in each style, so its on a first paid, first served basis. My goal is to sell 15 so I and WE can contribute $150 to the family. In addition, each time you wear your blue or red jewelry, you can wear it in remembrance of this small child who made an impact in our world. If you have a small business or know of one, consider reaching out and helping this family during their darkest moments. I know they will be most appreciative and feel the kindness, not just of family and friends, but of strangers who were willing to lend a helping hand.
