As someone who would be standing on the opposite side of the protest from all of you in this thread, I would just like to say a few things calmly before everything gets even more heated in a few hours. a. There is NO pro-Hamas protest. Being pro-Palestine or against the Israeli government does NOT in any way translate to being pro-Hamas. Please, please remember that. None of us are mourning the deaths of members of a terrorist organization, we are mourning the deaths of the children and hundreds of civilians that have been unjustly killed. ON BOTH SIDES. b. To anyone who keeps saying that being pro-Palestine is being angry at people for being Jews: please, wake up. To equate pro-Palestinian sentiment with anti-Semitism would be an egregious error. The state of Israel and its governments actions do not equate to the beautiful religion that is Judaism. There are thousands and thousands of Jews across the world protesting with the Palestinian cause. And let me remind you that there is an extremely large Palestinian Christian population in Gaza and the West Bank, throughout Israel as well--lest we forget. This conflict is not about differences of religion. Regardless of the different way most of you likely feel compared to us over this entire situation, I hope at least some of you understand a. and b. because they are extremely important. Sincerely, Someone from the other side
