As the Operation Surge continues, Rokupa Holding Centre in the - TopicsExpress

As the Operation Surge continues, Rokupa Holding Centre in the Eastend of Freetown is overwhelmed with cases. Many people who have volunteered to go to the centre to report their illnesses have no space to be admitted. The centre has 23 beds capacity all occupied with patients as I type. Sick people who went to the centre though show signs of the Ebola Case definition have no space to be admitted, but has to wait outside for the health workers to call 117 to send ambulance in order to take them to other centres. The nurses at the centre are doing very well, but Government has to urgently increase the beds capacity of the centre. Its so sad to know that the nurses at the centre have not received their weekly risk allowance since the start of December. They are not happy and their lives are being exposed to danger. Please pay them their weekly allowances, The holiday is drawing closer, and these nurses have families.
