As the Republican party drifted away from their history of fiscal responsibility, limited and decentralized government members like me felt less and less at home. As national Republicans looked to large interests with corrupting campaign dollars for their directions rather than the silent majority that had always trusted them to protect republican interests as they worked lives to build communities, we began to lose confidence in their leadership. As these career politicians...looking to protect their careers....began to sound and act like big government Democrats I am not surprised there were grassroots movements everywhere to reassert values of liberty. I am more surprised at the forbearance of so many others. Yes it sad that the Left and MSM has successfully maligned and misrepresented so many ordinary citizen candidate patriots giving new life to Democrat office-holders who should have, long ago, been relegated to the ash bin of history but I do not miss the establishment Republicans they replaced. Yes, it is also true that the Left is rubbing their hands in glee at this struggle for the soul of our Party, as it divides our power and support for the historic values that created this nation, allowing their collectivist interests to win by plurality. Yes, these times are filled with challenge and danger.....but we have been here before. Our ancestors fought against greater odds and with fewer true believers. If this Republican Party can not be reclaimed, like the Whigs before them, a new American value Party will rise.
