As the Wall Street Journal aptly noted, “Mr. Obama proposes, Congress refuses, he does it anyway.” But just what has all this imperial action gotten us? 41 consecutive months of unemployment above 8 percent – the longest streak since the Great Depression. 5 million jobs still missing since the 2007 recession ended. 780,000 more women unemployed today than when President Obama took office. A looming small business tax hike that could destroy 700,000 U.S. jobs. Roughly 13 million Americans remain unemployed, and 41.9 percent of them have been for six months or more. Unemployment for Hispanic Americans remains stuck at 11 percent. Half of all college graduates are either unemployed or underemployed in the abysmal Obama economy. In the words of Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer, “It’s hard to call someone imperial who’s failed so consistently. Or maybe not. You can surely be imperial and unsuccessful. Waterloo comes to mind.”
