As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. Psalm 42:1 Do you ever feel like every time you try to move forward in something, you hit a roadblock? Maybe you can learn something from the deer. The male deer is a single-minded creature. Once it picks up the scent of water in the desert, it directs all its energies to finding the water. It will battle opponents to the death in order to get to the water. Such single-mindedness is what the Lord desires of His children. He wants us to pursue His will for our lives with all our body, mind, and spirit. As the deer pursues the cool waters with all that it has, so must we also pursue Gods purpose for us, with all that is within us. His purpose is our water. God has water spots for you along lifes path. Run for them. As you set out today remember that you are not running alone. The Lord is going before you. He’s preparing a way. He’s making your crooked places straight. He’s making your rough places smooth. You may go through few difficulties, but that will not be the end of you. You will prevail. You will find water. Be like the deer. Run towards your water. God has equipped you for this journey. Look at the promise of God today! Keep speaking words of faith instead of words of fear and doubt. The Lord promises to anoint your head with oil and cause your cup to run over. Thank Him for making your crooked places straight! Keep running, friend, YOU WILL FIND WATER.
