As the end of the year approaches, I think many of us get nostalgic. I am one of these. I look back on, not just 2014, but many years before. I never imagined 2 decades ago that I would be posting as a farm. Our tiny little place brings us hours of projects - matter of fact we often welcome folks with welcome to the projects as there is never a lack of stuff to do! In addition there are hours of entertainment and so many memories! Not always fun or happy, as there is always a chance of heartache when dealing with living beasts. Not to mention frustration. I try to look on these times as more learning experiences than negatives. Many do not understand what we do, some even think what we are doing is cruel. However, on our small plot we are able to provide our family with eggs, meat and often veggies. Heck, if I ever lose my mind entirely, we could have milk! Many think I am crazy with all the extra work the farm requires in addition to a full time job. But my answer to the scoffs and question s is it is often cheaper than therapy! Dealing with the animals and caring for them is rewarding and therapeutic to me. I am thankful or them and the lessons they have taught me, my husband and my children. None of this would be possible without my family, especially my amazing hubby who shares and supports and digs right in my crazy hopes and dreams! God is good and provides exactly what we need - this is so evident in the husband he chose for me!
