As the lady intimated, China and Russia are hardly natural lovers. However, we ought to be aware that many historically seminal relationships have begun as marriages of convenience. Yes, they have had border problems in the past, but how valuable must it be for China to have a geostrategic ally as vast as Russia, able to tell the US to use a trampoline to get to the space station. It is evident that if the US and the West do not ACT decisively, then RC-Cola is born. I do not see the West being able to stand up to this new global power, the Chino-Rusky axis, any time soon... if, that is, it does not do so NOW. Together they are simply too powerful to be stopped and with the US fast becoming a paper tiger--always making the right diplomatic noises and whatnot (...is sending the wrong signal... we are very concerned...) but never able to project meaningful power, it is clear that what began as an autocratic power push--the use of state power to target an individual, has resulted in the moral latitude of this new Power, RC-Cola, to take the initiative and begin an even newer world order. These are exciting times. Maybe our leader, in the West, will finally stand up to the bully that my godfather, Ras Putin the Great, can be when there is no other force to deter him.
