As the violence and death toll continues to rise in the Middle East, Im so discouraged. As Ive mentioned previously, I have people I care about who have ties back to both sides of this war so I cannot choose one over the other. So, I will be praying for level heads to prevail, to stop the killing on both sides, to find ways to end the bi-directional hate and to learn to live together in peace. My only suggestion to address the hate is to stop looking backwards. Nothing good can come from holding onto the hurts of the past. Whats been done is done. It cant be changed. There is no such thing as a positive outcome to revenge and no such thing as getting even. Both concepts do nothing but escalate a bad situation. Is forgiveness easy? Nope, its not. But, is it worth it? You bet. Every. Single. Time. Please think about this before taking the next hateful action.
