As the winter chill sets in, United reminds you that heating units have been running more frequently and for longer sustained stretches than we typically see this time of year. We hope this isn’t a sign that this winter will be as brutal as last years, when record-setting low temperatures caused more than 20 freezes before December 31, 2013. It’s important to address your energy conservation and efficiency needs before that happens. Our energy auditors have seen that some members’ systems are not running as efficiently/optimally as they should, which will cost precious energy dollars. To help with this, United provides residential members with a HVAC tune-up rebate up to $100 per unit per year for members to have a licensed HVAC technician conduct that service. Members can obtain the rebate application form at united-cs/myhome/energy-innovation/rebate-programs/. We also recommend requesting a free home energy audit to ensure other areas of your home are not energy hogs.
