As this is Native American month, and I am proudly Native. Thought I would share this that I wrote a couple of years ago. May my Native brothers and sisters enjoy. From the Red Man to the White I welcomed you with open arms. My food to you, I brought. Not that I owed you anything, it was your friendship that I sought. You were few, and much in need. My friend, youd gladly be. Then you grew and wanted more. No longer could you.....see me. Promises youve broken, many lies that you did tell. All the lies you told me, one lie you did not tell. You swore you would have it all, youve managed that quite well. A promise, you could have broken. That promise, you did keep. All the pain you caused me, it cost you no sleep. Now for you, my heart is sore. My eyes now fill with tears. Will the Great Spirit forgive you, is the basis of my fears? Not for the land youve taken, or the many lies, youve told. But its for the greed you had, now Satan owns your soul. Now to the Great Spirit, for you, each day, I pray. I would not want to be you, when Hes met, on Judgement Day.
