As this is quite the knowledgeable community, I thought Id toss out my dilemma. I have recently purchased a Booker T and the MGs record, that of Soul Dressing. It is a fairly recent pressing by Sundazed records. Unfortunately, some of the first side and almost the entire second side skips. Often. Suffice to say, it is not listenable. I thought I purchased a dud. Thus, I went and bought a second copy (same Sundazed label) from a different source. The result? The same thing! Well, sort of, the first side is fine, but the second is a total skip fest. At this point, you may wonder whether any of my other albums skip. No, they do not. You may also suggest that I increase the weight of the cartridge. Cant do. My Audio Technica players tone arm is not adjustable and even the old pennies trick wont do as the cartridge is curved. I guess my question is - have any of you come across this issue with a Sundazed release? Or is this only limited to Bookers Soul Dressing. Any input would be appreciated.
