As this video indicates there is NO compatibility between the teachings of Jesus and the philosophy and teachings of Ayn Rand. Her philosophic narcissism is, in fact, an antithesis of Christianity and as a radical atheist this was very much her intent. Yet there are those claiming to be Christians or represent Christianity who espouse her political, economic, and social philosophies. Note for example that there are those in Washington D.C., within our government, particularly on Capitol Hill, who give her books as holiday presents every year and recommend them as the key to not only personal success and prosperity but that of this nation and the world and all this in spite of her hatred of altruism and espousal of selfishness. Among the things Ayn Rand promoted: No publicly funded education -- only those who could afford it should be educated and only to the level they can afford. Health care should be available only to those who can afford it and to the level they can afford it. Others should be refused health care and left to suffer and die as the natural order dictates. Only the wealthy should have representation in government and hold public office. All others are weak and not worthy to make decisions regarding government. The disabled are an unnecessary burden upon society and should be euthanized. Laws should be passed forbidding all public and private charity efforts. No resistance to these laws should be tolerated. Laws should be passed forbidding public religious expression and all buildings and property belong to religious organizations should be confiscated and put to other uses by the state or sold for state profit for private use. Private religious expression should be regulated and groups should not be allowed to gather beyond a very limited size with no voluntary collection of funds permitted. Those who exhibit the most ruthlessness in achieving their personal goals and financial success should be our heroes. Those who are altruistic, philanthropic and help others should be ostracized and condemned as failures. Empathy is weakness and one must never feel empathy even if uncontrollable circumstances have disadvantaged someone. No laws should exist to regulate or control businesses from predatory, abusive or ruthless practices nor punish owners and managers for promoting them. Workers need not be paid if they fail to produce the desired results of employers. Wealthy individuals should not be taxed but realize the full benefit of the taxation of those who are financially inferior to them. Public works should only be for the private use of the powerful and wealthy elite. Those beneath that status must pay for use. This Advent season renounce and condemn the ruthlessly narcissistic teachings of Ayn Rand and those who follow her. Embrace the pure teachings of love, empathy, compassion, altruism, philanthropy and respect that the Son of God was sent into this world to teach us. Let your light so shine before men that they will see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Be, with the Savior born in Bethlehem, the light of the world who comes in love to break the cruel oppressors rod and set us free to be kind, generous and loving. Dont follow the idol of self like Ayn Rand did and her followers still do. Follow Jesus.
