As usual with an over active mind, felt the need to pen this down. There are called: Filipino - Not Pinoy Chinese - Not Cina Blangadeshi - Not Bangala Indonesian - Not Maid Caucasian/European/Westerner - Not God People complain non stop about foreigners/PR flooding into Singapore. While some of their lifestyles and maybe loud behaviors are not acceptable to our self-made Singaporean standard, have we actually look around us and reflect on ourselves, if our behavior are acceptable to others? These foreigners/PR leave their home to work in a foreign country, simply because our country is a land of opportunities, which is obviously lacking in theirs. While we are all just earning a living to provide for our families and ourselves, arent they just doing the same? Differences in cultures and language created a barrier between locals and Foreign Talents/PR. A lot of people had experienced communications break down and had difficulties understanding and being understood. Still, I never quite understood that familiar trying-too-hard slang, which a lot of us put on while conversing with a Westerner. While these folks could be normal and humble, we still subconsciously to match up our level of English to theirs? No? And these folks can actually understand us perfectly if we had speak normal English. We feel intruded because our homes are invaded. But then again, do we want to do a lot of the jobs they took up, even when they have a University degree that not all of us might have? Living in a country with so many races, we survived racial harmony thus far. We do not have a unique ethnicity like Japanese do. We dont even have our own language. (Singlish is not a language) Time to face the fact, that our country has always been, and will always be filled with ethnics of all kinds. A lot of people say, go take a lot at other countries, then youll know Singapore aint that bad. Unfortunately, while the folks of higher income tier has no issues to travel the world and experience this hands on, not all of us can afford this. Some problems ordinary folks face often, the higher income folks will never understand. And honestly, sometimes I do wonder if our government do too? Instead of fighting all these in vain, why cant human beings just live in harmony with other human beings? Arent we having enough stress on our living standard (freaking cab fare is ridiculous), then to have time to keep fighting with this? Dont be shallow, because thats how people sees it, unless you are equally shallow. If the surroundings do not change to suit you, you adapt to the surroundings, or you are just gonna have a tough time. And.Nobody.Cares. But one thing I have gotta say, stop killing each other seriously. Adapt and do it the Singaporean way, complain! Hardly works, but at least no one dies... #becolorblind #harmony #equality #adaption #Singapore #andtalksoftly #notdeaf
