"As voters, we have two responsibilities to ourselves and our country. The first is to know our candidates. In order to do that we have to do our homework – reasearch, read, talk to people, make an concerted effort to understand the positions of every candidate we want to vote for. We also have to get out there and meet them, ask them questions, talk to them face to face. The second responsibility we have is to inform our candidates (and our elected representatives) about the issues that matter to us. Write letters, attend meetings, visit offices, make phone calls, get involved and stay involved. If we do this, we can send more of the kind representation that we want to our states and to our national Governments. We can send representatives who will fight for us, not the banking industry, not the fossil fuel industry- not Monsanto or Walmart, but for the people. There are more Elizabeth Warren’s out there. What we have to do is find them and give them our support."
