As we approach Rememberance Day it is important to for us to think about what our honored veterans fought and died for. They fought for freedom, justice, liberty, democracy and equality, as well as to protect those that could not protect themselves. These great ideas are fundamental in Canadian society and are worth fighting for, but it vital to remember that these concepts are not just Canadian, that these ideas are important to all of humanity, and that our brothers and sisters South of the border as well across the pond understand this and fought and died with us as comrades should, as the defenders of Western ideals and to preserve human rights and freedoms, globally. So, although Rememberance Day is meant to honour our Canadian soldiers, let us also take a moment to think about the honoured dead and living of our British, American, Australian, etc. comrades who fought and bled with us to preserve our way o life.
