As we approach nearly 24 hours of relentless strong winds and severe weather impact on our network, our crews have worked hard to restore power to over 40,000 customers today. With another strong front moving across the state this afternoon, with wind gusts of up to 100km across the state, there has been further damage to our network mainly through trees and tree branches falling on power lines. Currently there are approximately 8,000 customers without power primarily across metropolitan Adelaide. We expect the strong winds to continue overnight and are preparing for further outages. Customers should be prepared for extended outages and with the potential for some customers to be without power overnight. We will provide further updates via our Facebook page and Twitter. All work involving planned interruptions in the metropolitan and country south regions has been cancelled and we are mobilising all available crews to restore power as quickly as possible to affected customers. Information on current interruptions and expected restoration times are available on our Current Interruptions page here: bit.ly/curr_int
