As we celebrated w/our families, opened gifts, met new friends, had some laughs, prepared & ate delicious meals; there were some who did not experience this joy. This year God impressed upon my heart to think of others less fortunate than us. I shared with my hubby, then we talked to our kids. As a family we were on a mission from God to serve & to bless others less fortunate than us by volunteering @ a homeless shelter. The kids gave up 1 item on their Christmas list to purchase hats & gloves for the homeless (Jae gave up a North Face hoodie & Zaye gave up some Nike Elite socks). We reached out to some family & friends to ask for help to reach a goal of 100 hats & gloves for our mission. The outpour of support was phenomenal. We will be able to bless 100 people with a NEW hat & glove set. Praise God!
