As well as the club hosting the Combination Cup Finals on Saturday, the Club saw the the presentation of our Defibrilator from its sponsor Rakhib from the Dil Raj in Dursley. Those involved were Phil Sprague, Senior Rugby Managery, John Darlaston, Club President, Simon Bilous, Club Chairman, Rakhib from the Dil Raj, Paul Winterbottom Club Facilities Manager & Club Captain Rich Brooks. The Defibrilator is linked to the local 999 call centre. Should it be required, the 999 operators will give an access code and the unit can be used by anyone, it does not need specialist training to work. The club decided to invest in a Defib after reading of cases of young fit, healthy individuals suffering heart issues while playing sport. The provision of the Defib at DRFC adds to its continued desire to provide safe, inclusive, enjoyable sport for all in our community.
