As you know, we go and clothe and feed the homeless on a Wednesday. I want to tell you all about one of the guys we help. His name is TONY, he has been living on the streets for a couple of years now. He sleeps by the canals each night, and uses one of the sleeping bags we gave him, plus a tent. Just before christmas TONY got himself a job selling christmas trees, he never told his boss that he was homeless, yet each day turned up for work. His boss has been that impressed with him, that he has offered him a full time job. Still his boss dosent know hes homeless. Last night i was talking to TONY and he told me he had managed to save up £300.00 so far towards getting a flat. He has been looking for a flat and found that with deposit etc, he is going to need about £900.00 in total. I have been speaking to TONY now for about 9 weeks, and i can assure you he is 100% genuine, and a really nice bloke. Ian Kimberley came up with the suggestion that we do something to help, and i think i have found the PERFECT solution. Ben Benkae Kimberley is arranging a 24 hour sleep out with the homeless on the 31st January, in order that you can experience the feeling of being homeless for just 24hrs. I want this to be a SPONSORED EVENT and all money collected to go towards TONYS new flat. So please consider EITHER sleeping out with us on the 31st, or SPONSORING US to do so. Lets see if we can help TONY get back on the right track Knowing TONY as i do i guarantee he will cry his eyes out, but i can assure you, if anyone deserves help its him In fact hes coming to mine today for dinner with me and my family.
