Ash Wednesday, marks the first official day of the 2014 Lenten - TopicsExpress

Ash Wednesday, marks the first official day of the 2014 Lenten Season. For this year’s theme Pope Francis has chosen “He became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich.” Corinthians 8:9. This is a great time of penance and prayer leading up to Easter. Relationship building with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through sacrifice and prayer are pertinent during this sacred season. Fasting gives us the opportunity to deny ourselves of our wants and clearly focus on our needs. This is the perfect time to redirect our attention to the things that really truly matter. The disciplines gained during this season are invaluable and should not be taken light heartedly. I feel that Lent is like a 40 day revival for the soul; a time to remove and cleanse of things unworthy of taking up space in our lives, hearts, minds, and souls. So, in closing, my prayer for you my friend during this Holy and rejuvenating period is this: I pray for your strength I pray for God to guide you through this journey I pray for whatever has been weighing you down physically, emotionally, and spiritually to be abolished from your life in the name of Jesus Christ I pray for your well being I pray for you to have good health I pray for you to be successful in all of your endeavors I pray for your blessings to come in abundance, where ye shall not have room enough to receive them I pray for your understanding and knowledge I pray for you to know that you are loved I pray for you to know that you are somebody I pray for your relationship with God to grow I pray for the well being of your family and friends. I hope everyone has a wonderful Lenten Season. I am looking forward to it. I have decided to give up pork and beef during this time (thank goodness I ate those cookies Sunday!! LOL!!) Until Easter…. Take care and be blessed!!
