Asheville City Council will hold a special closed session meeting on Friday at 2pm to discuss a matter relating to a city employee. News 13 has confirmed that the employee is Police Chief William Anderson. In recent weeks, Chief Anderson has come under scrutiny for the handling of a car accident involving his son, Chad. Last week, a veteran officer of the police department publicly accused the Chief of trying to coerce him to lie about the case. We are told the city manager will give council an update on the investigation and that no personnel action will be taken at that time.
