Ashland, OH- A 20-year-old Ashland County woman and her mother were stabbed during a domestic incident, and the search for the suspect ended in an apparent suicide. The stabbing occurred around 1 a.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of County Road 1035. The woman’s 22-year-old boyfriend, the suspect in the stabbing, was found dead Sunday afternoon, hanging in a tree in a neighbor’s wooded property, said Chief Deputy Carl Richert of the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office. The stabbing suspect, Bradley Michael Boyer, 22, of 1026 Columbus Circle North, was pronounced dead at the scene after being found at about 3 p.m. Sunday, Richert said. Boyer is accused of stabbing Morgan Richter and her mother, Shannon Richter. They were taken to Samaritan Hospital, where they were treated and released. Richert said deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at about 1 a.m. Sunday at the home of Steve and Shannon Richter on County Road 1035. Boyer and Morgan Richter got into a dispute and Morgan’s father escorted Boyer off the property a little after 11 p.m. Saturday, according to Richert. Deputies said Boyer apparently managed to sneak back inside the house and hide in Morgan’s bedroom closet. When she opened her closet, he stabbed her multiple times in the back with two knives, Richert said. Morgan’s mother heard a commotion and went to the room. She was stabbed and hit in the head, and suffered a broken nose, Richert said. Shannon Richters son, 15, attempted to stop Boyer from attacking his mother and sister but was assaulted and sustained injury also. Everyone was able to escape to a detached garage, where Steve Richter called 9-1-1. They waited there until law enforcement arrived, Richert said. Members of the Ashland Police Department and its canine unit and the Ashland post of the Ohio Highway Patrol helped search for the suspect. While detectives were searching for Boyer, they received a call about 2:50 p.m. Sunday from a resident in the 1900 block of County Road 1035, who said he and family members discovered a man hanging from a tree while they were walking trails on his property. The area was secured until the Ashland County coroner arrived. The coroner sent the body to Cuyahoga County for autopsy, Richert said. mansfieldnewsjournal/article/20131103/NEWS01/311030014/Ashland-County-stabbing-attack-hanging-reported?nclick_check=1 wkyc/story/news/2013/11/04/sheriff-boyfriend-who-stabbed-girlfriend-her-mother--found-dead/3433941/
