Aside from causing gallbladder problems as discussed earlier, high intake of refined, vegetable oils (corn, canola, soybean, safflower, sunflower, etc.) is a main contributing factor to omega 3 deficiency. Symptoms of omega 3 deficiency include: --Impaired memory, concentration, and other brain fog symptoms --Skin problems (dry skin, skin rashes, eczema, psoriasis, etc.) --Weak nails --Dry hair --Digestive problems --Higher incidence of postpartum depression --Inflammation (which can cause allergies, high blood pressure, and a whole host of other problems) --Stiff, achy joints; arthritis, etc. And many other health problems. Be sure to check your food labels for these refined oils as these oils high in omega 6s are in at least 70% of store-bought foods (chips, crackers, dressings, breads, even those that are organic), and 90% of restaurant foods. Instead use oils like olive oil, virgin coconut oil, avocado oil, and butter from grass-fed cows. Note also that high intake of corn (corn meal, corn tortillas, corn chips, popcorn, etc.) and meat from animals that are fed corn (which is pretty much all conventional beef and chicken) also contributes to omega 3 deficiency.
