#AskACCA 298 I have passed all of my ACCA exams almost in 1st attempt uptill now , but never attempted any of the exam more than 85 marks ,despite this I have managed to passed everytime but now this time management weakness is stopping me to pass Paper P-3. I will be attempting P3 3rd time now.My main problem in P3 is of time management I never completed whole 100 marks paper.In my 1st attempt I did 75-78 marks paper & failed at 35 , then in 2nd attempt I did 80-83marks only & failed at 41. In this attempt I did a lot of practice of questions in the kit , all of them in written & did them as if I am doing them in exam by looking at the time but I am failing again & again in doing them in the time allocated in the exam(i.e 1.8mins/mark).I tried to figure out that why does this happens and found these reasons : It takes me15-20mins extra than required time (in doing whole 25marks question) & when I do part a or b of a question it takes me 10-12mins extra & this extra time increases in case of questions that I find difficult.I think that this is the main reason which always lead to my failure & limits me to do 80-83 marks paper.I think that causes of my extra time are : 1.It takes me 8-10mins in reading the 25marks questions & 20-22 mins in reading long 50marks question.(Main weakness) 2.When doing question I stop in between writing the points,I 1st plan what I will write & then I write it.I do this to avoid myself writing irrelevant point and be breif as much I can.(This planning of point time takes 8-10/point I make and contributes to 3-4mins of my extra time. I strictly allocate 1.8/mark in doing question’s requirement & I multiply the time with 1.5mins/mark, but I never completed the question in 1.8/mark maximum limit. I also mark my answers after reading the answers in the kit & I most of the time get 60% of the marks or more, which suggests that I have a good grip(not perfect)on the areas in the syllabus. I think I will pass the paper if I attempt 92-95marks paper but this also never happens & I am failing since last 2 attempts.I cannot tolerate to fail this attempt,I am giving only 1 paper this attempt that’s P-3 & failure this time aswell will cause 6months extra to qualify ACCA.I am working very hard this time by keeping all my weaknesses in mind studying for 7-8hrs daily & I have to pass this paper at any cost.
