Assalamaualaikum What islam says for a man who beat his wife or dont respect her saying I m man I will do whatever I wish.... Dont try to compare with me???? Praise be to Allah. There are many Critic of Islam they pick one verse of the Qur’an and propage the Islam teaches to beat the wife and they quote the verse from Surah Nisa. “beat them” [Al-Qur’an ch 4 Verse 34] And They made the Issue in the whole world even Including Tasleem Nasreen(May Allah be cruse be on her). “That Qur’an says or commanded Husband to beat Wife”. If you read the whole verses, Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husbands) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance): For Allah is Most High, great (above you all). [AL-Qur’an ch 4 Verse 34] Transliteration: Ar-Rijālu Qawwāmūna `Alá An-Nisā Bimā Fađđala Allāhu Ba`đahum `Alá Ba`đin Wa Bimā Anfaqū Min Amwālihim Fālşşāliĥātu Qānitātun Ĥāfižātun Lilghaybi Bimā Ĥafiža Allāhu Wa Al-Lātī Takhāfūna Nushūzahunna Fa`ižūhunna Wa Ahjurūhunna Fī Al-Mađāji`i Wa Ađribūhunna Fain Aţa`nakum Falā Tabghū `Alayhinna Sabīlāan Inna Allāha Kāna `Alīyāan Kabīrāan Here Allah says that If the wife cross the limit and don’t obey the Husband and she don’t listen after all consultation, and separate the bed and yet she don’t listen then beat her. The Arabic word Used here which means “Beat very lightly” and prophet Mohammed(pbuh) said like beat with “Miswak” in modern terminology like “Hand Key “ And there are various conditions lay down like prophet Mohammed(pbuh) said “Do not beat on face and Mark should not left on her body” etc…. Means it very very very lightly, If it is really would have physical beating then Qur’an you mention beat her till the teeth broken or bone broken. Its just Symbolic beating as final ultimatum in that case only. In General Men even can’t even speak badly with her. Allah says in the Qur’an “Nor should ye treat them with harshness…… But consort with them in kindness” [AL-Qur’an ch 4 Verse 19] Allah said that in this verse completely verse that even you dislike her treat with her equity and just,kindness means even shouting at her also prohibited In Islam. Even while divorcing, When Men divorcing her and she is in Idda period, even that time Man can’t behave with her rude even knowing that she leaving him yet he has to deal with kindness. “either take them back in a good manner or part with them in a good manner” [Al-Qur’an ch 65 Verse2] “Lodge them (the divorced women) where you dwell, according to your means, and do not treat them in such a harmful way that they be obliged to leave” [Al-Qur’an ch 65 Verse 6] Beating Wife in Islam is harram In Islam its major sin in Islam. Prophet Mohammed(pbuh) said “The best amongst you those who has the best patten of conduct and those who good to this wife” [Trimidi Hadith 1162] Then can be a Man good Muslim who beats his wife? Never !!! “you garment of them, they garment of yours” [Al-Qur’an ch 2 Verse 187] Prophet Mohammed(pbuh) said “If any one thing you dislike in your wife surely you will like other quality in her” [Sahi Muslim Vol 2 Hadith 3469] I Islam don’t believe in By-bashing Between Husband and Wife. After this Answer is Immediately questions is “If Husband can beat his wife in case she cross the limits of Islam and don’t obey her Husband then in that same case Wife can beat her husband? Praise be to Allah: The Answer given in that verse only. Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means” [Al-Qur’an ch 4 Verse 34] Allah said that “Men is more stronger then Women” If in case that Husband is not good and not giving her right and If she beat Him , Then what he will do ? He can beat 100 times more then what she beats to him. If the Husband not treating well to her then she very well can approach The Qazi and explain the whole that “He is not given the Rights to me and not treating me well” etc…. She can take Divorce “Nikah-e-fask” Allah knows the best
