Assalamualaikum w.b.t This year’s summer season was not just 3 - TopicsExpress

Assalamualaikum w.b.t This year’s summer season was not just 3 months of hot weather, but it was also an indication that those 3 months were full of historical moments, either in terms of political affair in Egypt or to the people in it. When the whole world tried to deem this political drama from an outside perspective, Malaysian students studying in Egypt bore witness of all these incidents as we will also be experiencing the consequences from each of it. PERUBATAN Cawangan Mansurah (PCM), as a student body in Mansurah take this matter earnestly. Since the first evacuation back in 2011, Education Malaysia in Egypt (EME) had put PCM in charge of collecting student’s data and as well as conveying all the safety guidelines from our goverment to the students. For each and every issue that rose among the students, will be carefully analysed and professionally responded by the leader of PCM of that time. PCM standpoint for Egypt’s political dispute Egyptian people continuously seeking answer from Malaysian students as well as trying to deliver their messages relating to the leader they supported on. We believe that it is the individual’s right to rely on whoever they think would be a better leader for Egypt. However, as this matter had charged heavily to the student body, implicating we are the person in charge of conducting some sort of an underground movement in order to build up support to any of the leader in Egypt, we decided to come with a statement stressing upon our standpoint for this matter. As stated in PERUBATAN’s constitution: Clause 2: Type of organisation “PERUBATAN is a non partisan student body concerning with Malaysian students’ welfare.” and also in Clause 36: General matter “PERUBATAN must not involved in any political party activity or outlaw any Egypt’s constitution and must not permitted any financial or allowed official premises for such activity” With these two clauses quoted from PERUBATAN’s constitution, we think it is more than enough for everybody to acknowledge our standpoint on this particular matter. Safety guidelines to Malaysian students Major concerns rose exponentially in our part when one link regarding downloadable PDF files has been distributed wildly, mentioning the crisis that had happened between Egyptians and Malaysians. Although all the accusation in those files are not true, we are in no state of control in what other people believe in for that kind of matter. However, whatever happens, students’ safety is our first priority. With that saying, we have reached the conclusion to construct a set of guidelines in order FOR STUDENTS TO TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS. 1. Don’t continue to distribute the PDF file entitled “Malaysian crisis”. Although you may think by doing so could build up the support on your side, but this doesn’t mean that the opposite side will be affected negatively. 2. Don’t use inappropriate language while describing your feelings toward any situation that may reflect Egypt or Egyptian people. 3. Avoid answering any question or making any statement that may state which side are you on regarding Egypt’s political dispute, even if it is in your daily conversation, personal social media or blog. 4. Avoid entangling or involving in any situation (i.e demonstration) that may harm your well-being and jeopardise your status as Mansoura University student. Although all these guidelines may seem to restrict your human rights, these guidelines is not more than just a vexation of a friend towards another friend. Conclusion In chaos theory, there is a term called butterfly effect. Any slight change or simple action can give a dramatic and large impact in the future. As I try to imply this in our situation, minor words or actions that come from any individual/student may have a large impact in our society in the future. Although it is hard to predict the future but the trajectory of a single action can be seen from previous examples. Of course everybody would be expecting only good news because bad news is simply difficult to digest by the mind and overtly by the heart. I hope our perspicacity to an issue must be tuned accordingly to the surrounding and environment that we live in. PCM is trying its very best for the better good. All we need left is the cooperation from every student that we care for. #pray4Egypt Thank you.
