Achieving this through the consolidation, simplification and continuous improvement of processes across the full range of HSBC operations, the division simultaneously takes responsibility for managing operational, location and processing risk and ensuring that services provided are at a best-in-class price point for the required quality level Job Function Description Analytics- Risk team is responsible for developing integrated risk strategies, providing business inferences, supporting the modeling forecasting needs and management information reporting. The work would primarily involve the use of customer operational data and application of statistical tools and techniques to achieve following – Design and Develop risk strategies, statistical, financial and judgment based models to enhance business decision making. – Providing consultancy services to various business functions – Support business functions like forecasting & reserving. – Action oriented and on time reporting & analysis to meet customer expectations. – Support other analytical needs of the business Duties & Responsibilities – On-board and train junior analysts on various aspects of business, processes and infrastructure. Should be able to resolve their queries and assist them in project delivery – Responsible for end-to-end project management and flawless and timely delivery of projects assigned to him. – Constantly look for opportunities to increase business value – Work with multiple customers/functions on multiple projects simultaneously and deliver in a timely, efficient and effective manner. – Independently resolve queries/issues associated with a project and making sure that learnings are incorporated so as to avoid them happening again – Understands business objective of the project and should conceptualize, design and implement the same while making sure that the output meets business expectations – Gain knowledge of processes and drive implementation of process efficiency initiatives – Ensure adherence with all the applicable compliance policies (Data security policy, AML, operational risk, Functional manual, Group Compliance Manual, Audit recommendations, Internal Control requirements, regulatory guidelines etc.) and business standards of Organization as applicable. Take timely action on Audit comments and be able to demonstrate compliance with Internal controls – Certain roles may also require developing models forecasting methodologies using SAS, Model Builder, Xeno or other platforms Qualifications Skills & Qualifications – 4 year Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from reputed University with concentration on marketing, finance, economics or other quantitative field such as statistics or engineering. – Strong analytical skills with 3+ years of proven business analysis experience or equivalent. Knowledge and understanding of financial-services/ banking-operations preferred. – Intermediate level programming skills – Knowledge of forecasting and finance modeling techniques, marketing research and multivariate analysis tools applied to marketing (e.g., factor and cluster analysis, conjoint analysis etc.) is a plus – Knowledge of SAS, SQL and other equivalent analytical tools is a plus – Ability to comprehend intricate and diverse range of business problems and analyze them with limited or complex data and provide a feasible solution framework. – Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas – Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills and drive for success
