At 00:20 the box alarm 70-2 rescue assignment was struck for a motor vehicle accident. The incident location was Locust Hollow Rd with a cross street of Ski Gap Rd. Initial information from the scene reported a vehicle roll over with injuries and possible entrapment. This assignment brought units from Stations 70 (Claysburg) and 86 (Blue Knob). Greenfield Twp PD and Fire Police from Station 70 arrived on the scene first and confirm double entrapment in the vehicle. By this time, Rescue 70-31, Engine 86-11 and Engine/Rescue 86-31 had hit the street with a total staffing of 15 volunteers. Engine 86-11 arrived on the scene first and got a 360 on the situation as crews prepared the vehicle for extrication. As crews from 86-31 and 70-31 arrived, members went right to work finishing up vehicle stabilization. Crews then started to open up the vehicle to gain access to the patients and free them from the wreckage. The first patient was extricated in just under two minute of the first arriving apparatus, while the second patient was more heavily entrapped. The 2nd patient extrication time was 17 minutes. It was a great display of teamwork by both departments! You guys are all truly Professional Volunteers! Lastly hats off to the Police Depts., EMS agencies and 911 Dispatchers who are also on the job 24-7! Chief 86-01
