At 1:24 this morning Tower 45 was dispatched into with High Bridge(14) Fire (Chief 14, Deputy 14,Ladder 14, Engine 14, Squad 14, and Special Service 14) on Box 1401 Level 2 for smoke in the building at 81 West Main. Annandale(46) Engine 46-1 was also on the box. HBPD quickly arrived and updated it to a working Fire. Chief 14 upgraded the call to a level 3 bringing Quakertown(91) Rescue 91 as the RIC. As units arrived on scene and went to work the call was upgraded to a second alarm with additional special calls. Crews worked to extinguish the fire but found it to be running void spaces between floors and in the walls. Members were ordered off the roof and a collapse and flash over followed shortly and all members were evacuated safely. Under extremely cold conditions all units worked well together. CFD responded the following units, Chief 45, Deputy 45, Tower 45, Engine 45-1, and Special Service 45. Companies operating on scene: High Bridge, Clinton, Annandale, Quakertown, Lebanon Township, Lebanon Boro, Califon, Washington Boro, County Fire Coordinators, State Fire Marshal, High Bridge and Lebanon Township EMS, High Bridge DPW, and Hunterdon County DPW. Although it is unfortunate people lost their residence and business all are safe today.
