At 4:00 this morning, I heard in my spirit the words, “The meek shall inherit the earth.” Then I heard God speak to my spirit and say, “one faith, one lord, one baptism”. (Ephesians 4:5) As I got up in obedience to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, I questioned, “Who are the meek?” Meekness is an active and deliberate acceptance of undesirable circumstances that are wisely seen by the individual as only part of a larger picture. The patient and hopeful endurance of undesirable circumstances identifies the person as externally vulnerable and weak but inwardly resilient and strong. biblestudytools In the beatitude, Jesus says, “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. (Matthew 5:5). Wednesday night I woke up at 11:11. Understanding the significance of these numbers in biblical numerology, I knew that chaos beyond measure is imminent in our Nation. All around us there is calamity. From the recent shootings at the Washington Navy Yard, Chicago, (School) and evening the bombing during the Boston Marathon single chaos. We are in a world gone mad. With the value of the dollar questionable the future of middle American is at risk. Mothers are unable to feed their child, pay their light bills and make their rent. Fathers stripped of their dignity are often absence from the home so that there is no covering for the family. Thus our children suffer greatly the pain of the dis-association from their fathers. Yet the question becomes how are we to endure the struggles that we face daily? The answer seems so simple. Just be courageous, or have courage. According to wwebster-merriam, courage is mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty. Denzel Washington once starred as Lt. Colonel Serling in a movie called Courage under Fire. The movie was about a rescue copter, Captain Karen Walden, who died shortly before her helicopter crew was rescued after it crashed in Desert Storm. It first appears that she made a spectacular rescue of a downed helicopter crew, then held her own crew together to fight off the Iraqis after her copter crashed. Lt. Colonel Serling, who is struggling with his own demons from Desert Storm is assigned to investigate and award her the Medal of Honor. But some conflicting accounts, from her crew and soldiers in the area, cause him to question whether she deserves it. As Christian we have the Word to comfort and guide us through the most difficult situations. Psalm 91:4 let’s us know that God’s truth is our shield and buckler. In Psalm 119:11, the psalmist declares “Thy word will I hide in my heart that I might not sin against you.” This same Word is our shield and butler in the time of a storm. David says, “Yea I will sing praises unto your name. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalm 119:105) The writer goes on to say in Psalm 27:6 & 8, And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord. In verse 8, he writes, “when thou sadist, Seek ye my face: my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek. Let me tell you. My God is a wheel in a middle of a wheel. My God is peace in the valley. My God supplies all of my needs according to His riches in glory. And He supplies all of my needs. So, when it looks like I am down for the count, my God is an all consuming fire. Tho I am surrounded with enemies round about me, I will fear no evil for He’s a present help in the time of trouble. Though He leads through valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for is in His right hand and He comforts me. If he can bring me back from death. If he can raise the dead, give sight to the blind, He is more than able to establish in my going. He is more than to see me through the collasal catastrophes that are before us. We must put our trust in God for He cares about you and me. When you have done all to stand, stand therefore having your loin girted with the Truth. Jesus says, I am the way the Truth and the light if any man be in darkness if he would come to me I will show him. When Jesus prayed to God to be glorified, he said, “Sanctify them by[a] the truth; your word is truth.” I hear God saying, “If my people who are the called by my name will humble themselves and pray, seek my face and turn from their wick ways, then will I hear from heaven and I will heal the land. Can you hear God speaking to your, “Repent! Repent! Repent!” He is soon to return with his shaft in his right hand. In Revelation 1:1-16, Brother John was on the isle of Patmos. He says in verse 10-16, I was in the Sprit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia; to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and Laodicea. John proceeded to describe the Son of man. And then in verse 16 he writes: And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was the sun shines in his strength. The right represents strength and authority. For listen, My God is able to keep us from falling in this wicketh and terrible day. So don’t look at my countenance and think I am little and weak. For the God who holds me in hands fights my battles for me. And the last time I check, He told me it was a fix fight ,and I win. You may not see me raising my voice and with my fists up. But don’t count me out. When I was raising my three children and they were acting out. I didn’t have to worry because I had friends who recognized the anointing upon my life. They saw me as meek, humble and lowly at heart. There were times I was sick, tired and regrouping from near postpartum depression or near death experiences. And two of my friends who were single parents would tell my children, “If I hear that you have been acting out and disobedient, I will be there to beat you down with my fist. If my Methodist brethren were here they would moan and say, “I love the Lord. He heard my cry and pity my every groan. Long as I live and trouble rise, I hasten to his throne. Listen don’t worry about me for when the enemy comes against me like a flood, the Lord our God holds up a standard. David says, “And even my enemies surround about me, they stumble and fall. Here me when I say, “I don’t have to fight my battles with my fist because they have already been fought on my knees. So if you’re worry about the affairs of this life, I admonish you to put on the hold armor of God that ye may be able to stand in the last and evils days. If you don’t know God in the pardon of your sin through Jesus Christ, now is the time to come to know Him in a very real and personal way for Shiloh is soon to come back to gather to himself. And if you are not ready you will be left. Know that the meek are those who can rest in God because they have pursued him on their knees and have received Him into their hearts. I encourage you to hearken to the voice of the Lord. Want you let him into your heart today? He will fight your battles and bring you peace of mind and joy divine. Let us pray. Devine and eternal Father we acknowledge your sovereignty. Thou are holy. Thou art God the Creator of the universe. It is thou who has made us and not we our selves. We are the sheep of your pastures. We come before you asking that you would cleanse us from all unrighteousness, that you would return this perverse generation to its knees. Forgive us our sins that we may come boldly to your throne to intercede on behalf of your people. Please stay the hand of death from our families and give us the grace to climb. Lead us into green pastures where we may feast on your words and have provision for our families. We are grateful to you for your wonderful works are many. And we send up sacrifices of praise unto you. Thank for saving us. Thank you for cleansing us. Thank you for reminding us of your goodness. Hallelujah! Amen. If you have not made a personal commitment to God and accepted the Lord Jesus into your heart join me in prayer. Dear God, I repent of my sins. Be they as far away from me as the east is from the west. Blot out my transgression and my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart and I will follow thee. Thank you for coming into to by heart. I accept the gift of the Holy Spirit and will follow you the rest of my days. Angels are rejoicing in heaven! Go in peace and sin no more. God is not slack concerning His promise.
