At 57:00 on this video, these gentlemen start expressing their desire to hang President Obama, with observations of the good old days of what Billie Holiday referred to as strange fruit in one of her hallmark recordings. Not racist? I wish these were just isolated nut jobs on the fringe. But, unfortunately, we have heard this kind of talk too often lately. White people tend to think that racism is something in our past. Recent events have proven all too clearly that this isnt the case. Over a year ago I posted my blog piece on racism. At the risk of redundancy, I intend to re-post it whenever this kind of noise becomes unbearable.
