At first blush, Governor Haslam seems to have hit a home run with his medicaid expansion, but with typical Republican doublespeak he refuses to call it medicaid expansion( if Obamacare were called Romneycare, Republicans would be running all over each other to jump on the bandwagon). The plan may not go far enough, but it is still a step forward. The feds will pay 100% the first 2 years . After that the feds will pay 90% and the American Hospital Association 10%. My math may be rusty but it seems to me we are insuring 200,000+ Tennesseans with a net cost of $0.00 to the state. Who could possibly be against this? The Koch brothers and hypocrite-in-chief, Scott DesJarlais among others. The opponents make this a deal clincher for me.
