At lunch today, Gene and I were enjoying the meal I had taken home - TopicsExpress

At lunch today, Gene and I were enjoying the meal I had taken home from The Wildflower Restaurant, and we had a thought or two that I would like to share. If you think of other reasons to be grateful that you live in the vicinity of Hughes Springs, join in. 1. The Wildflower Restaurant is the only all you can eat buffet in a huge circle around Hughes Springs. None that I know of in these other towns: Daingerfield, Atlanta, Mt. Pleasant, Linden, and only 3 in Longview. 2.Our Churches are not at war with each other. 3. Our school system still teaches an American curriculum 4. Our athletes are not in jail or using bad language or bad sportsmanship on the fields of play, male or female, and the restrooms are still gender specific, I hope. 5. Our graduates go on to higher degrees, and we have several doctors from our town.6.Two HS grads are newly ordained ministers and have both preached their first sermons locally today, and there are several others who are long time ministers not just in our area.7. Ann-Marie is an internet host for a political conservative show, and Lisa has several articles and the cover of CHARM this month.8. Our law enforcement officers and our City Hall people are top notch, and the city Library foundation is the best in the area, with too many names to list. 9. Brown bag day is the only catering day of its kind that I know of. Who else will bring you a good lunch and a bottle of water for $5.00? 10. We are very fortunate to have these last three things right where some small towns have nothing: a Good Shepherd Clinic with a great PA, a drug store, and a grocery store. Number 11 is now up, so what have I left off?
