At our Prayer Walk yesterday we prayed for opportunities to reach churches on the North Fork. We prayed that God would bring people to us to share about the ministry of OCC. We prayed for opportunities to have more men get involved, so this is an message I received from Debbie Seller about an hour after we finished praying… I believe we asked for more male involvement and when I was in the church office [after the prayer walk]Bill, an elder and lead person in the area for Man Alive, was answering some of my questions about the Awakening event. So here goes: about 300 people last year hoping it multiplies this year so we probably need 500-1000 handouts. He would love to share space under a tent with us and if we should be without a worker for a short time he would keep an eye and share as needed, we could do the same for him with his table. I mentioned how men’s ministry could grow with OCC in the future. How’s that for God answering prayer! We get to have a voice in the community on the North Fork at the Awakening event the first weekend of August. Please pray for the workers who will serve at the event. Also we are hosting a Project Leader Event on Aug 17 at Our Redeemer Lutheran, please pray for those who will attend the event and for open doors as we reach out to new churches on the east end in preparation for this event. We are working on a prayer walk for next week, will have information out to you by the end of the week. The Youth Team will be doing a distribution this morning, then they will be boarding chartered planes to travel into the jungle for the afternoon. Please continue to keep them in prayer.
