At some point inhe future we will reach a consensus nutrition. This will stop all of the confusion around diet advise and finally people will be certain of their eating habits and health will come much easier. I cant say for certain what that consensus will be, but I think it will be something like this. All fruit and veg is good, we should eat plenty of it, especially veg. Fats are an essential part our body, and all natural types should be in our diets in sufficient quantities. Protein is essential too, whether or not we get that from animals is a choice we are all free to make, more than we need does not help build more muscle or burn more fat, however too little is not great for health either. Carbohydrates are an essential part of many peoples dotes, and this macronutrient is probably the one we most need to vary for goals of either fat loss, hyper trophy or maintenance. The quality of our food is important, not all calories are equal, and a 50g of carbohydrates from rice are very different than 50g of carbohydrates from sugar puffs. How much we eat of our foods is the defining factor in either weight gain or weight loss, with all else being equal. There is more to life than dieting, and eating food thats unhealthy from time to time is not a big deal. Did I miss anything?
