At the October 27 General Meeting, residents participated in a Think, Pair, Share group exercise to identify issues and develop positive approaches to these issues. Specifically residents were asked to identify: Three Issues/Concerns/Incidents; Three Possible Actions; and My Solution. The individual sheets were collected and a draft transcription is being checked. The two group sheets that have been transcribed are as follows: CONCERN 1) Drunk -- vandalism -- disrespect -- overserving at Twilight Room 2) Safety/Security -- car prowls -- homeless -- no stop signs on streets -- empty houses 3) No relationships between homeowners and renters -- Renters to homeowner ratio changing -- Lack of parking SOLUTIONS 1) Get to know you form with phone # and email 2) Neighborhood watch 3) Better follow up to PSafe reports to neighbors CONCERN 1) Drunk - Disrespectful Behavior - Littering - Damage to yards - Vomiting 2) Noisy - Parties - Walking to bars/parties/campus 3) Odor - unknown (industrial) 4) Lack of Property Care - Couches - Garbage SOLUTIONS 1) Not overserving by establishments -OLCC enforcement 2) Good Neighbor agreements & training 3) Campus security proactive bike walk patrols 4) UP map offsite addresses & patrol 5) Reporting system hot line 6) Code enforcement by City 7) Landlord engagement Based on the General Membership meeting, the Chair met with Speaker Kotek and Sen. Shields and the OLCC is now beginning an investigation.
