At the end of the half marathon on Saturday, Katie Sullivan and I had the great pleasure of talking with Bob Dolphin, an 84 year old marathoner, who has run 502 marathons (that includes 44 ultras), done marathons in 40 states, and didnt start running until the age of 51. He said hes only able to do 1 marathon a year now since hes slowing down, and could only do 7 half marathons last year. He and his wife are the directors of the Yakima River Canyon Marathon too. He was truly inspiring, and a joy to talk to. I hope were all still running that strong and happy, at age 84.
