At the facility, where my client lives, theres a husband and wife that live apart. The husband lives in assisted living and the wife is in health care. Every morning the man walks across the street to the park and picks lilies for her, comes to health care and knock on her door, and asks her to go to brunch as if its their first date. The wife has dementia and rarely recognizes him. She had past away last night. This morning in front of her door there were the same big white lilies and a letter. When placing the letter the husband had instructed the nurse to allow anyone to read it. He wanted the world to know how precious she was to him. My favorite part of the letter: ....some might see this disease (dementia) as a curse but for us it was a blessing. It allowed us to fall in love over and over again. That, my friends, is true love at its finest.
