At this hour, Expectations, Scripture ref: Joshua 1:7-16; II Kings 6:8-20; Acts 3:1-5 by Bishop C.L. Williams. Expectation makes a difference. When your expectation has been aroused, I believe so much more can happen. Never give up your expectation and confidence in God. Expectation will see you through the hard times and the good times. We must live with the same burning expectation as Joshua and God will carry us through and bring the positive outcome in our lives and situations. When we are expecting the miraculous; we can declare war on anything that does not promise us a favorable outcome. Expectation is about looking forward to something. The famous sociologist, Robert K. Merton, wrote that a persons expectation is directly linked to the Self-fulfilling Prophecy. His train of thought was that if we, ‘Expect much – we will get much! If we, Expect less – we will get less!’ When we no longer have expectation, we stop growing in Christ. Before it is even recognized by others, you will lose your Confidence in God; you will lose your interest in the things of God and you will begin to find fault with everything and everybody. We cannot afford to stop living with expectation. The Bible says that He that is thirsty and hungry after righteousness shall be filled. Increase your level of expectancy. God has a deliberate plan to do something special for you. 5 Things You Do When You are Living with Expectation 1. Look Again, the Best is Yet to Come – what God has promised is on the way. 2. Rename Your Situation – speak now and change the name of the bad to something good. 3. Get Ready for Your Victory – make preparations now because your victory is leaning in your direction. 4. Break Free of What’s Hindering You – shake off and break off the chains which are holding you back. 5. Expect Your Breakthrough – expect it, receive it and enjoy it.
