At this link, there is information for a Quality of Life Subcommittee meeting on Wednesday. At this meeting, special interests on behalf of Charlestons richest residents will argue for banning certain tourist activities on Sundays. Unfortunately, they give little thought to how these changes would affect the quality of life of the thousands employed by our tourism industry if Sundays were off-limits for tour companies. Considering Sunday is one of the busiest days for tourism, that would mean more than 1/7 of their business being abruptly eliminated, and the potential for a lot of new unemployed Charleston residents, all to preserve the reclusivity of wealthy Charleston residents living in the historic district, who cant stand the idea of other people also enjoying and making a living showing off our beautiful city and its historical significance. Ill be there giving the SNOBs and SOBs an earful. I hope you will too. This IS very much a class oppression issue.
